     Oklahoma senior quarterback Baker Mayfield is on track to win the Heisman Trophy after a terrific outing against their 11th ranked rivals Oklahoma State in the annual "Bedlam" game where he threw for 598 yards, a school record, and scored 6 touchdowns. No player is having a better season then Mayfield who has guided his 5th ranked team to an 8-1 record while throwing for 3226 yards and scoring 32 touchdowns.      I was re-watching a favorite movie of mine this past week, Kevin Costner's Draft Day , and they talked about the scouting report for different all-time-great quarterbacks coming out of college, how they thought Manning didn't have the arm strength, Montana was too small, and Elway didn't throw a touch ball, and how those "weaknesses" never seemed to matter.      As many football fans know, we have a lot of analysts that are just idiots on national TV when talking about sports, and we often times end up feeling like we could do a better job for free (sometimes, I know I'm doing a better job for free...). It's one of the most frustrating things in the world of sports journalism that with all of the competition in this field that we don't have the very best working on all of the networks.      You may recognize Joel Klatt.      The early NBA season is very different then we all could have imagined. Playoff teams are starting slow and the new Superteams of the NBA seem to be working wonders across the league, displaying early signs of dominance and giving NBA fans hope in a new set of teams fighting it out in the Finals next May. Here's the biggest storylines of the early season, and my work in keeping you, the reader, informed. 1. The Greek Freak plays big through October       Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the story of this NBA season so far. Even though the Bucks are just 4-5, they have played competitively thanks to the work of the Greek Freak who continues to showcase his unbelievably freakish athletic skills and abilities.      Texans Rookie Sensation and quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in practice today during a non-contact play. It's been just four days removed from the biggest game of his career where he earned the complete respect of the NFL in a 42-39 loss to the Seahawks in Seattle. Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman said that it was "the best performance ever" by a quarterback against the Legion of Boom, which is saying a lot about how impressed the Seahawks were with the rookie.      This isn't the first time he has torn his ACL. As a promising freshman at Clemson University in 2014, Watson tore his ACL in a mid November practice shortly after spraining his knee. In the case of Dak Prescott, the senior quarterback at Mississippi State, a Heisman hopeful and 2014 First Team All SEC player, the road has been full of sorrow, challenges and hardships.  Prescott was born on July 29th, 1993, the youngest son of Peggy and Nathaniel Prescott.      As one of Nick Saban's National Championship winning quarterbacks, AJ McCarron is no stranger to drama. A fifth round pick in 2014, he was taken by the Cincinnati Bengals to backup their starter Andy Dalton. Many projected that McCarron would never succeed in the NFL, and benefited from having a great team while playing at Alabama.      Since that time, McCarron has silenced his critics with solid performances while playing for an injured Dalton.      The conclusion of an FBI investigation charging four assistant college basketball coaches of bribery and fraud shocked the sports world last month, leading to four different schools firing assistant coaches for their involvement in the scandal as well as Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino. Adidas paid big money to coaches to influence top recruits to play for schools affiliated with their brand, one of those schools being Louisville.      In this article, I want to look at the five schools affected by this investigation, and give you, the reader, a good look at what exactly to expect this season from these schools.  Louisville Cardinals How they were involved - Louisville was an Adidas sponsored school that paid families of top recruits over $150,000 to make sure that these players committed to Louisville.      Mark Richt has been a big name coach in college football for almost two decades now. After head coaching the Georgia Bulldogs for 15 seasons between 2001 and 2015, Richt was fired after a season of letdown from very high expectations and shortly thereafter hired by the University of Miami to be their next football coach. Richt took over a mess of a program, stumbling through decades of mediocrity, all the while trying to return to the glory days of the late 1980's and early 1990's.      Richt is now 16-4 as the head coach of Miami, and the Hurricanes are on a 12 game winning streak stretching back into last regular season, starting this season at 7-0.
