Jared Goff is Starting At Quarterback

The biggest breaking story in the NFL today is that #1 Overall Pick and Rookie Jared Goff will be the Rams starter for the rest of the 2016 season, clarified by Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher.

"I don't want to say," Fisher announced at the press conference this morning in Los Angeles, "it's a new era, it's a new start, but in a lot of ways it is. Jared Goff's going to be under center this week at home against a really good defensive team in the Miami Dolphins, so big challenge ahead."

Yeah, right. If Miami is a good defensive team them Tom Brady is a stuck up, no good, horse swaggling, dim witted... Alright, alright. Enough of that. The big news is Jared Goff is starting for the Rams whether he knows where the sun rises from or not. He's the starting QB and he will be for the rest of the season.

"Case was our starter yesterday. He's not today," Fisher rambled on. "It was a progression. It wasn't a spontaneous decision, it was a progression. It's a gut feel, it's not an easy thing. It's a gut feel. It takes time and we gave it time. It's the right decision right now."

Wait... What?! I think we can dedicate an entire article to why Fisher needs to write a speech before he goes to a press conference, give the speech and drop the mic before walking away... Rather, have someone write the speech for him. That still may come tomorrow. Anyways. Fisher just gave NFL meme writers and critics a lot of ammunition to use against him when things don't improve. Rams fans are hoping that isn't the case.

Jared Goff wasn't impressive in either Preseason or Hard Knocks, the HBO reality show that summarizes an NFL training camp. He seemed more like the comic relief role of a dude trying to make the team then a soon to be starting QB. Who knows, maybe he was actually acting. Hint hint another high dollar career path. Taylor Swift may be waiting for a crushing attractive young blonde. Never know.

Getting serious, as this subject is hard to take seriously, Goff has a lot to prove and he has 7 weeks (maybe more if the Rams pull off a playoff run) to prove it. He has a slim chance to lead Los Angeles to a playoff run and he still has time left in 2016 to justify his #1 overall pick. But, until then, good luck seeing me put together a serious article on Jared Goff.
